So Monday was emotional as F for me. It didn’t even start until the afternoon, so I’m like WTF? The first time I’m saving for, you guessed it, the book. The second time I cried was at Jermaine’s (You probably know him as J Cole. I call him Jermaine. Lol) concert. This is the 4th time I’ve seen him (3rd time in 2.5 years) and he never disappoints.

New York, My Love (well, sometimes)
Yesterday morning, I was reminded of why I love New York.
Changes.
I’m usually quoting or using something that Kanye has said, but I’m upset with him right now. So, to quote Jay-Z, “Everybody look at you strange, say you changed. Like you work that hard to stay the same. ” You don’t have to be a Jay Z fan to have heard of it because people have been using that as their Facebook and Instagram caption for years. I used to roll my eyes, but then growth happened.
Solo Trippin’ – Charlotte, NC.
Solo trips are so good for the soul.
I didn’t know anyone who went on solo trips when I took my first one to Miami a few years ago. I just got tired of waiting on people to decide they wanted to go on these trips with me.
I Am Not My Hair (Or Lack Of).
As a woman, our hair becomes a part of us, our identity. Whether we wear it short, long, big, etc. For some of us, the longer we let it grow, the more it hurts us when we let it go. Well, let’s say some time ago I liked it short enough to do two-strand twists, and all of that. Something like this.
Happy 2018!
So, we see another year. New goals that we may (or may not) follow through with. People we’ve decided to “keep” in our lives (or not). Gym memberships we’ll use until right after Valentine’s Day. All jokes aside…
My “Hella Perspective”.
Shoutout to “Insecure” for making me reflect on my own “mistakes” (in quotes, because are they really mistakes if we learned from them?) AND successes. If you haven’t watched this show, you should definitely check it out.
I’m gonna be real.
How I’ve Practiced Self Care.
Self-care is hard, especially with so many things going on nowadays, but that’s why it’s most important. Here are four of the ways that I like to (or will try to) practice self care.
New Year. Same Goals.
Happy New Year beautiful people!
So, I made this blog to do a lot of things:
- Have an outlet
- Share my New York life
- Make myself (and someone who may be reading) “honest” in chasing their dreams/meeting their goals.
I’m sure there are other reasons, but those are the most important.
