I moved to Chicago in August of 2011, jobless. It worked out though. That’s another story for another day. About a month or so later after being offered a position, I met a co-worker, turned friend. She was about 8 years older than me. It’s usually that way when I click with people who I didn’t meet in college (or beforehand).

Women’s March NYC
So, I went to the Women’s March in NYC this past weekend and I’m so glad I did. This was a first for me, and it definitely won’t be my last (march of any kind). I was very conflicted by different posts that I saw leading up to the event. Specifically those where African-American women said they were going to sit this one out. I was crushed. Why? Some of the points were valid and I definitely understood. The biggest one? 53% of Caucasian women voted for him. Agh…

Well, shoutout to her because I was feeling a little inspired and did the same thing. 😏 I will say one thing about New York, I’m more “bold” here. For lack of better words.

- Have an outlet
- Share my New York life
- Make myself (and someone who may be reading) “honest” in chasing their dreams/meeting their goals.
